CBD for Pets

Our CBD oils for pets were created out of concern for our small companions who, just like humans, can struggle with various health-related challenges. Our pet oils use the same effective formula as our products for humans, with the addition of natural flavours.

The CBD oil for dogs contains a chicken flavour, while the oil for cats is based on sustainable and organic salmon oil. Everything is designed to make administration a pleasant experience for both you and your four-legged companion.

What Benefits Are There?

CBD oil affects the so-called endocannabinoid system in humans. The same system is also found in mammals, molluscs and fish.

This means that our pets can also benefit from the properties of CBD. Just like in humans, animals may respond differently to the oil depending on what their bodies need. CBD is often described as having pain-relieving and anti-inflammatory properties.

The oil may also have a calming effect, which can be beneficial for stressed animals. In addition, it may help support a stronger immune system in pets.

Is It Safe to Give CBD to Animals?

The simple answer is that CBD can generally be given to pets safely. CBD has no widely known serious side effects in animals. Our CBD oils are made with non-toxic ingredients, meaning there is minimal risk of harming your pet if you accidentally give slightly too many drops. If too much CBD is given, the animal may simply appear sleepy or tired. This effect is temporary and does not cause lasting issues.

As with humans, it is recommended to start with a small amount and gradually increase the dosage over several weeks. Pets may also need a short adjustment period when starting CBD. Please note that cats with digestive issues should not consume CBD. It is always best to consult your veterinarian before giving CBD to animals so you can receive advice regarding dosage and suitability.

What Should I Choose – Liquid Oil or Tablets?

There are several types of CBD products available for pets. The most common product is a liquid oil that can easily be administered in the animal’s mouth using a pipette. Another option is CBD in tablet form.

Tablets may be suitable if your pet accepts them without spitting them out. Ultimately, the choice depends on your pet’s preference. However, it is usually easier to control the dosage when using liquid oil.

Which Strength Is Best?

Just like CBD products for humans, CBD products for pets are available in different strengths. Determining the best strength for your pet can be difficult. It is generally recommended to start with a lower strength for a few weeks.

If the desired effect is not achieved, you can then gradually move to a stronger option. This approach helps reduce the risk of unwanted effects such as excessive tiredness.

CBD for Dogs

Many dogs have sensitive or anxious personalities and may struggle with being left alone. They naturally prefer constant company from their pack — meaning their owner and family. Some dog breeds are more prone to anxiety, hyperactivity or stress.

However, anxious behaviour can also result from negative experiences. Dogs often become stressed or frightened when exposed to loud noises, such as fireworks on New Year’s Eve or thunderstorms.

Using CBD for pets to help reduce stress and anxiety has become increasingly common. Many dog owners report positive experiences with CBD in situations like those mentioned above.

CBD for Cats

Cats are generally less prone to anxiety than dogs, but they can still become stressed when their routines change or when their environment is altered. Cats simply do not like disruptions to their normal routine. Signs of stress in cats may include urinating or defecating outside the litter box.

This can indicate that the cat is uncomfortable, and in such cases CBD oil for pets may provide supportive benefits. CBD may help cats feel calmer, including during transportation. Most cats dislike travelling or car rides, so giving a small amount of CBD beforehand may help them feel more relaxed.
